In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was laid off from a job I only imagined leaving for retirement. I was disorientated and disappointed, and although I indulged in some sulking, I knew God had better plans.
My children sat me down and encouraged me to use this time as an opportunity to discover new hobbies or revisit old passions. By chance, I opted for candle-making.
From there, three formulations were born. I carefully chose each blend to pay homage to my Cameroonian heritage. The aromas evoke memories of my father's village, Bamougoum, and the days spent in the Bafoussam plantations, watching my mother plant corn.
Honouring the past and those who came before us is at the core of my Bamiléké culture. I fervently hope that as the aromas travel throughout your homes, they will spark conversations on culture, heritage, and the memories that shape us.
